Shabnam Parvaresh: Weiße Flagge/WhiteFlag

The Iranian clarinettist and visual artist Shabnam Parvaresh realises the multimedia performance "White Flag". A suite composed by Parvaresh for bass clarinet and electronic effects enters into a dialogue with a collage of images, poetry and film clips, which are projected onto white fabric panels. The white fabric panels, as "white flags", represent the hope for peace. Through the elements projected onto them, however, the price of peace also becomes visible. Thematically, the artist takes up the freedom struggle of women and young people against the brutal regime in her home country Iran.
