Shabnam Parvaresh is a clarinetist, visual artist, and curator from Tehran, Iran. She studied fine arts in Tehran and began her musical career by studying clarinet privately with musicians from the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. In 2013, she moved to Germany to study jazz clarinet at the Osnabrück Institute of Music. In her musical work, she takes an explorative approach that blends elements of Persian music with electronic sounds, improvised music, and jazz.
In 2020, she founded the Sheen Trio, whose debut album Gozar was released by Berthold Records in spring 2023. The ensemble has received international recognition, with their music broadcast on national and international radio stations and featured at festivals across Europe and beyond.
Shabnam is also active as an instrumentalist in numerous other projects and has performed at events such as the Cologne Jazzweek, the Moers Festival, the Tehran Contemporary Music Festival, and the Multiphonics Festival. Beyond her musical work, she curates the concert series Klangfenster in der hase29, dedicated to improvised and experimental music. Beginning in 2026, she will assume the role of Artistic Director of the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück.
As a visual artist, Shabnam has presented solo exhibitions of her work in Tehran, Osnabrück, and the United Arab Emirates. In recognition of her artistic achievements, she was nominated for the Osnabrück Art Prize in 2022.

Shabnam Parvaresh ist Klarinettistin, bildende Künstlerin und Kuratorin aus Teheran, Iran. Sie studierte Bildende Kunst in Teheran und begann ihre musikalische Laufbahn mit privatem Klarinettenunterricht bei Musiker*innen des Teheraner Symphonieorchesters. 2013 zog sie nach Deutschland, um an der Hochschule für Musik in Osnabrück Jazzklarinette zu studieren. In ihrer musikalischen Arbeit verfolgt sie einen explorativen Ansatz, der Elemente der persischen Musik mit elektronischen Klängen, Improvisation und Jazz verbindet.
Im Jahr 2020 gründete sie das Sheen Trio, dessen Debütalbum Gozar im Frühjahr 2023 bei Berthold Records erschienen ist. Das Ensemble hat internationale Anerkennung erhalten; ihre Musik wurde auf nationalen und internationalen Radiosendern gespielt und bei Festivals in Deutschland und im Ausland präsentiert.
